Use

I notice that the page for lewisite notes that it's completely useless outside of warfare. This page has no such language. Would that also be true for sarin, which is much more lethal, or am I missing something? Delukiel (talk) 01:29, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

I should add that the article contains its description of its use as a pesticide but it pretty quickly moves past that. Maybe could be expanded? Delukiel (talk) 01:31, 10 December 2024 (UTC)

non-toxic

Article claims sarin degrades into nontoxic phosphonic esters. Well, first of all Methylphosphonic acid is corrosive to eyes and is quite hazardous both in contact with eyes and mouth (and other mucous membranes) as well as by ingestion. But, sure, the lethal dose is likely around 1 gram per kilogram so I'd buy that - diluted in water - it's got low toxicity. Non-toxic? Wrong. (alcohol and table salt are less toxic, potassium cyanide is ~1000x more toxic, it's a bit less toxic than ipbuprofen). So, if you're gonna claim it's "non-toxic" then that term damn-well should be defined. Even water has an LD50...98.22.50.44 (talk) 06:42, 6 August 2025 (UTC)

Having done a review of the supporting source at the end of the sentence, I'm not sure that the claim is sufficiently verified either. The only reference I can find to "nontoxic" relates to binary weapons, where "relatively nontoxic intermediates" are utilized.
