Objective notability
[edit]I noticed that he wrote a detailed article about a giant in Endocrinology, Philip E. Cryer. To be chosen to do so by the American Diabetes Association suggests a high level of prominence within the field. After a deeper review of reliable sources, there appears to be strong evidence that Samuel E. Dagogo-Jack, MD, DSc clearly meets Wikipedia’s notability guidelines for medical academics.
He is the A.C. Mullins Endowed Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where he directs major clinical-research programs and fellowship training. He is a leading figure in diabetes research, having authored more than 500 peer-reviewed publications, with over '''29,000 citations''' and an '''h-index of approximately 66'''. He has served as principal investigator on major NIH-funded studies including the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP/DPPOS), DCCT/EDIC, and the POP-ABC study. His research has contributed significantly to scientific understanding of prediabetes, metabolic risk, leptin biology, glucose counterregulation, and diabetes prevention.
