Convictions

[edit]

It would be nice if there was a single table of the convictions and associated prison times for all involved. The highest reported number I can find reports on a 6th conviction and claims there were 24 wives (the justice department states "approximately 50 followers and over 20 wives") - which is in conflict with the documentary and most sources. I did find a Justice Department press releasealso that notes that 11 people were charged in the case (and a latter one stating 11 - presumably Moroni?). Another source stating 8 wives had been charged (Julia Johnson + ??? excluded).

Males

  1. Samuel Bateman - CSA and CSAM - 50
  2. Torrance Bistline - CSA (CSAM?)- 35 + probation for life
  3. LaDell Bistline, Jr. - CSA and CSAM - Life
  4. Moroni Johnson - CSA (only?) - 25

Wives (adult)

  1. Josephine Barlow Bistline - CSA (when sam was absent), CSAM, kidnapping - 15
  2. Marona Johnson - CSA and CSAM (dropped in plea deal) tampering - 2y + 3y probation.
  3. Leilani (Bistline) Barlow - CSA and CSAM ??? - 3y + 3y probation
  4. Leia Jo Bistline ???
  5. Brenda Lisa Barlow - CSA, CSAM, kidnapping (cooperated) - 3y + 3y probation
  6. Naomi Bistline - kidnapping - 21 months + probation
  7. Donnae Barlow - kidnapping (dropped in plea deal) and tampering - 20 months (time served) + 3 years of probation.
  8. Moretta Rose Johnson - kidnapping - 1y + ???
  9. Julia Johnson - immunity? - none

Summary

  • Bateman himself.
  • 3 male followers.
  • 20 wives total (10+ adult/10 underage)
  • 8 adult wives charged with a crime.
  • 1 adult wife (Julia Johnson) that cooperated with police (and presumably given immunity).
  • 1+ adult wives not charged and unaccounted for.
