Thank you for your time improving this page. I noticed the version currently showing is much shorter, while the original fuller writeup (from 2 July) was more informative about the party’s formation, leadership, and platform — and it was also sourced to Samoa Observer articles.

I understand there were concerns about neutrality or sourcing, but would it be possible to review that earlier draft and see if it could be restored (perhaps with minor trims) since it gave readers a better understanding of the party’s history and goals?

Happy to help add more citations or clarify anything needed to meet standards.

Having compared the two, the longer version included no references, and so everything in it was completely unsourced. It also included promotional material, violating WP:NPOV. That is why it keeps being reverted. That said, articles on political parties should include information on political positioning and policies (at a level of detail appropriate for the article), so if you have good sources for those, post them here. Something like "the party is centrist[ref]" in the lede, and "the party's key policies include [very short list] [ref]" in the body as appropriate at the moment.

Stylistically, longer isn't necessarily better. A short article which covers the material is better than one full of fluff. IdiotSavant (talk) 01:02, 3 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

The Samoa Labour Party (SLP) is a political party in Samoa founded in June 2025 by several former members of the Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP), including Fa’aolesa Katopau Ainu’u, Soʻoalo Mene, Tuisa Tasi Patea, and Su’a Tanielu Su’a.^[1]

The party was registered with the electoral commission in June 2025^[1] and launched its campaign on 14 June 2025, announcing plans to run 14 candidates in the next general election.^[2]

The SLP positions itself around economic development, employment, and modernising village infrastructure.^[3]
