I'll review this Gb321 (talk) 04:23, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

First, I think the DYK can be worded better, something like

Second, the review:

Length Newness Cited hook Interest Sources Neutrality Plagiarism/paraphrase
✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔

Everything in the checklist is met. Hook is cited and interesting. Article is neutral, long enough, and new enough based on the date the DYK was submitted. Copyvio maxes at 8.3%. However, despite all this, I do not think the article can be passed as is, for three reasons:

1) The repeated (fictional) superscripts are unlike anything I have ever seen on Wikipedia. Is there a reason for doing all this? Can these be removed (the article is about a fictional character on fictional TV show, isn't it obvious that everything is fictional)? I do not think I can approve this article for the front page with all of them there.

2) I added a banner to the character biography section and even if the article is long enough for DYK as is, I do not think it can be passed with a banner like this. Regardless, I think the banner belongs until the issues it calls out are addressed.

3) I started a discussion in the talk page about the accolades subsection. The DYK can probably be passed with this issue unresolved, but I think it needs to at least be discussed.

@Afrowriter the additions look good! More than enough to remove the banner. Some of the (fictional) superscripts remain however, those get removed and this article passes its dyk review Gb321 (talk) 17:53, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gb321 Removed done Afro 📢Talk! 22:44, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Afrowriter very nice article edits; I am ready to approve this DYK. However, before I do so, I would like your thoughts on ALT1, which I think has better wording. Between the two, I'd like to approve that one. Gb321 (talk) 05:26, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gb321 Thanks. You can go ahead with your prefered choice am fine with it. Afro 📢Talk! 00:34, 11 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

Accolades subsection?

[edit]

I do not think the accolades subsection belongs in this article, as it is about the actor, not the character. I've looked at more than half a dozen character articles (Admiral Ackbar, Cara Dune, Black Panther (character), Vito Corleone, Sonny Corleone, Bart Simpson, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), etc.) and none of them have an accolades section. I think the entire subsection should be deleted. Gb321 (talk) 04:55, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply

T'Challa (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has an accolades section, so does Ted Lasso (character), however neither of these are GAs while several of the ones I previously linked to are. I have yet to find a GA fictional character article with an accolades section. Gb321 (talk) 06:43, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gb321 Thank you for your feedback. The reason I think the award and nomination belong there is that, although the accolades are associated with the actor, he received them specifically for playing Sam. Sam is not a real person and therefore obviously could not appear to receive the awards himself. In that sense, the awards were given to the actor for his portrayal of the character. and for the fictional tag. I did that on purpose to give readers the feel that those Name mentioned there are not real especially the Dubai air even though most them exist in real life, so it shouldn't give readers bad view of the company. Afro 📢Talk! 07:21, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Also is there any reason for removing the relationship section ? Seen a couple of GA fictional article with such. Clark Kent (Smallville). As i think it essenstial Afro 📢Talk! 07:33, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Afrowriter i added the season 1 and 2 sections, so I put the relationship content in those sections. season 1 was too bare without it. season 1 could still use more. if those sections get meaty enough, carving the relationships into their own sections may be appropriate, but it isn't necessary as it currently stands. it also helps that Sam's relationships were seasonal, so they easily fit into the season 1 and 2 subsections Gb321 (talk) 14:28, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gb321 Currently expanding the article especially the season 1 & 3 maybe I would try to move it to FA & GA after all this hard work. Afro 📢Talk! 16:38, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Afrowriter I'm still not sure about the accolades section, but I think it can remain for dyk reasons. the fictional stuff needs to be done differently though. I would check out some other fictional character GAs that potentially had the same issue and see how they handled it Gb321 (talk) 14:31, 10 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Gb321 Greetings friend what's the update with this DYK? Afro 📢Talk! 08:22, 12 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It's been approved, so we now have to wait for it to be added to a set. It's not immediate but usually doesn't take too long Gb321 (talk) 00:14, 13 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
Ok Thank you appreciate ya. Do you think it stand a chance for FA ? Afro 📢Talk! 04:37, 13 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
It has to get to GA first. I think there's a lot more to do for it to get there, but it is doable. I'm not super familiar with that stuff though, and not at all familiar with it regarding fictional characters. Worth looking into though. Gb321 (talk) 07:06, 13 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
