Rusty did not hit a home run during his first major league at-bat. It was actually his second career at-bat in which he homered. By taking a look at the box-score from his first MLB game [1], in which he batted second in the batting order. Also note that the home run occured in the second inning, therefore making it impossible for him to have homered in his first at-bat. The Rangers put up 6 runs in the first inning, allowing him to take his second at-bat in the second inning.
