Disclosure of conflict of interest — portrait of Rosa Branson

Latest comment: 27 days ago1 comment1 person in discussion

Hello,

I am Michael Shpakov, a professional portrait artist (website: www.michaelshpakov.co.uk). I painted a portrait of Rosa Branson, now on Wikimedia Commons at File:Artist Rosa Branson MBE by Michael Shpakov.jpg. This file was previously deleted and has now been restored with permission confirmed via VRT (ticket 2026090810010472).

I should disclose that I am personally acquainted with Rosa Branson and her family, and recently attended the unveiling of the Blue Plaque commemorating the Branson family home — which is why I want to be transparent about this connection here rather than add the image myself.

This portrait was used as the cover image of Lynn Michell's authorised biography Rosa Branson: A Portrait (Linen Press, 2021, ISBN 978-1838060350).

I'd welcome an independent editor's view on whether it's appropriate to add to the article, and I'm happy to answer any questions about the file or its licensing.

Thank you,

Michael Shpakov (Hollandra) --Hollandra (talk) 21:35, 9 September 2026 (UTC)Reply
