Possible wrong aircraft in article picture

[edit]

I think that's the Ro III Rodra, not the Ro II.

Compare the article photo with the Ro III Rodra here - https://www.ole-nikolajsen.com/Rohrbach.pdf - the schooner sailing rig is a perfect match, with three sails overall (two genoas and one mainsail).

On the other hand, the NACA plan on this citation https://generalaviationnews.com/2017/04/13/prime-movers-for-airplanes/ shows the Ro II with a simpler rig, just two genoas. ElectronicsForDogs (talk) 20:26, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

  • Sorry, the Ro III has space for three sails, this article picture shows two hoisted (foresail and mainsail) but an unused space for a second foresail.

You can tell because there's no space for a mainsail, with its distinctive solid boom, on the claimed plan of the Ro II. ElectronicsForDogs (talk) 20:30, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Please disregard all of the above. I'm not sure how I misidentified the Rorbach Robbe plan as a Ro II - call it failure of reading comprehension. I'm going to remove the reference to genoa sails and that citation. Thanks! ElectronicsForDogs (talk) 21:32, 18 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
