Edit Request: Add citation for BooksForTopics Award
[edit]![]() | An impartial editor has reviewed the proposed edit(s) and asked the editor with a conflict of interest to go ahead and make the suggested changes. |
I have a professional connection to BooksForTopics and am requesting an update to the "Awards" section to provide a verifiable source for the existing mention.
Proposed Change: Please replace the current text: * 2024: Books For Topics Early Readers Book of the Year, winner (Gigantic) With this version that includes a citation and a link to the BooksForTopics Wikidata item (Q137997404): * 2024: Books For Topics Book of the Year, winner (Gigantic)[1]
Reason: The mention is currently unreferenced. This change provides a reliable source and connects the awarding body to its structured data on Wikidata (Q137997404) for better data integrity.
Thank you!

Go ahead: I have reviewed these proposed changes and suggest that you go ahead and make the proposed changes to the page. Fiske (talk) 18:37, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you. I have updated the entry. Note: I used the year 2023 and the brand name BooksForTopics to match the official website source exactly. I also added the citation as discussed. ALeach26 (talk) 19:27, 17 March 2026 (UTC)
- Removed citation as promotional/COI-linked sourcing. The editor who added it appears to be associated with the cited website, which raises concerns under WP:COI. The site is commercial in nature and includes affiliate book promotion, so it does not appear to be a strong WP:RS for verifying the significance or notability of the award. I have not seen independent reliable coverage establishing notability, so inclusion seems premature. ~2026-16878-84 (talk) 00:17, 18 March 2026 (UTC)
