Setting the Record Straight

[edit]

I wrote this page in junction with my personal project to set the record straight on the historical events concerning the Spratly Islands. Many sites claim Henry Spratly or William Spratly named Spratly Island. The documentation I have gathered from around the internet serves up substantial evidence that Richard Spratly was responsible for this. Given his role in naming one of the most disputed border areas of our time, I thought it proper to give the man his due place in history as well as his brother William and the unrelated Henry who coincidentally surveyed Mischief Reef and got mixed up with Richard.

Thank you so much! Maybe you should set up a Wikiproject? Wikipedia:Spratly_Islands would be good. Zheliel 11:06, 13 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
