Luminosity law section seems to come out of nowhere

[edit]

While looking through the article and translating it to dutch, I found the section on the Luminosity law to be a bit weak and lacking sources. I found a possible source to which the article may be referring (had to use the internet archive there) [1], however, it doesn't seem to include the formula mentioned, only mention an adaptation (p170 in the footnote). The only similar looking luminosity laws I could find wereapparent magnitude and Apparent_magnitude#Calculations. My question: Does this section still have any relevance or should it be deleted. I am new so I would appreciate any opinions. Armemarkel (talk) 18:17, 18 January 2026 (UTC)Reply
