I would like to add an image depicting men of the Reddy caste from the Deutsche Fotothek website that has pictures taken of various South Indian peoples by Egon Freiherr von Eickstedt.
I would like to add a population count of the Reddy caste, which is somewhere between 5,000,000 - 6,000,000.
I would also like to go into more detail with the socio-political situation in 'Telugu lands' during the time of Reddi dominance.
If permitted, I would like to add a webpage for Prolaya Vema Reddy, the first king of the independent Reddy kingdom. Thegreatestemperor1 (talk) 17:18, 23 May 2025 (UTC)

Hello, I would like to point out that the Vellore fort was built by a certain Chinna Bommi Nayaka. Though the individual may have had the Reddy title he was probably of the Balija caste like the Chandragiri, Madurai, and Kandy nayakas. I believe it is inaccurate to have a photo of the Vellore Fort on this page. The source the Vellore Fort wikipedia page uses is this: https://sundaytimes.lk/120311/Plus/plus_01.html
In there it says, "King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe belonged to the same Nayak clan which built the fort". That means It was built by Balija Nayakas and not members of the Reddy caste. Snallapa1 (talk) 00:52, 5 March 2026 (UTC)
Not done: it's not clear what changes you want made. Please detail the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Are you asking for an image to removed from the article? --Gurkubondinn (talk) 11:57, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- Please remove the image of Vellore Fort from the article (currently located in the Vijayanagara period section).
- The inclusion of the Vellore Fort in this context is historically inaccurate regarding the caste affiliation of its builders. While the builder, Chinna Bommi Nayaka, is sometimes associated with the "Reddy" title in older or colloquial sources, contemporary historical consensus and lineage records identify him as belonging to the Balija Nayaka clan.
- Since this article specifically highlights Reddy history, the image of a fort built by the Balija Nayakas is misleading and should be removed or replaced with a more relevant historical site. Snallapa1 (talk) 18:44, 11 March 2026 (UTC)
- Specific change requested:
- Change: The current inclusion of the "Vellore Fort" image located in the "Vijayanagara period" section.
- To: Complete removal of this image from the article.
- Reason for the change: The inclusion of the Vellore Fort in this specific context is historically inaccurate regarding the caste affiliation of its builders. While the builder, Chinna Bommi Nayaka, is sometimes colloquially associated with the "Reddy" title, established historical consensus and lineage records identify him as belonging to the Balija Nayaka clan (alongside the Chandragiri, Madurai, and Kandy nayakas). Since this article specifically highlights Reddy history, featuring a fort built by the Balija Nayakas misattributes the architectural history.
- Reliable source supporting change:
- The Sunday Times outlines the lineage of King Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe and notes he "belonged to the same Nayak clan which built the fort" (referring to Vellore Fort), explicitly establishing the architectural link to the Balija Nayaka clan rather than the Reddy lineage.
