COI/paid disclosure & process
[edit]Thanks for the reminder. I’ve disclosed my COI/paid status on my user page and will avoid direct edits going forward. I’ll use {{request edit}} so uninvolved editors can review any proposed wording. My goal is neutral, source-accurate content. — HeleneM-Editor (talk) 19:14, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
Edit request (COI/paid) – History wording for 2016 Vancouver Sun
[edit]This edit request has been answered. Set the |answered= parameter to no to reactivate your request. |
Disclosure: I have a COI/paid relationship (disclosed on my user page). Requesting an uninvolved editor to implement a small, sourced wording change so the History section reflects the cited article while staying company-focused.
Please change the current History paragraph: Red Dog Blue Kat began producing raw dog and cat food in Metro Vancouver in 2004.[1] A 2016 report in the Vancouver Sun noted rising demand for raw dog food in Canada and quoted company owner Inna Shekhtman in coverage of the expanding raw market. The report also noted that veterinarians are skeptical of the value of raw diets, stating that "There is no scientific evidence of health benefit to the pet". [2] In 2017, Business in Vancouver reported the company’s move to a larger production facility in Port Coquitlam and nationwide distribution through pet stores.[3] A 2022 profile in Food in Canada discussed the firm’s emphasis on minimally processed raw diets and noted a growth partnership with Forage Capital Partners.[4]
to: Red Dog Blue Kat began producing raw dog and cat food in Metro Vancouver in 2004.[1] In 2016, a report in the Vancouver Sun noted rising demand for raw pet food in Canada and quoted company owner Inna Shekhtman in coverage of the expanding raw market. The article also mentioned broader veterinary skepticism of raw diets at the time.[2] In 2017, Business in Vancouver reported the company’s move to a larger production facility in Port Coquitlam and nationwide distribution through pet stores.[3] A 2022 profile in Food in Canada discussed the firm’s emphasis on minimally processed raw diets and noted a growth partnership with Forage Capital Partners.[4]
Rationale: Keeps the *Vancouver Sun* citation, briefly attributes general skepticism (not specific to RDBK), and keeps the History section focused on company coverage. Neutral wording; no promotional content.

Not done - We have to represent the overall thrust of the cited source accurately - this is required by WP:NPOV, and the cited piece is quite critical. We can't whitewash it. - MrOllie (talk) 19:54, 19 August 2025 (UTC)
Request: New section – Product development
[edit]Disclosure: I am connected with Red Dog Blue Kat, so I will not edit the article directly. I would like to request review for adding a new section titled “Product development” with the following neutral, sourced content:
- Product development
In August 2025, Red Dog Blue Kat introduced Everyday Raw Anywhere, described in media coverage as Canada’s first shelf-stable gently dried raw pet food.[5] The product is manufactured in British Columbia using GentleDry Technology, a low-temperature drying method developed by engineers and researchers from the University of British Columbia entrepreneurship community. The process combines microwave and infrared energy in a vacuum environment over a 90-minute cycle, designed to remove moisture while preserving nutrients, flavour, and aroma.[6]
Reports state that the method retains about 95 percent of essential nutrients and reduces carbon emissions by approximately 75 percent compared with freeze-drying, whereas air-dried and dehydrated alternatives may lose a greater share of heat-sensitive nutrients.[7] Everyday Raw Anywhere can be fed as a complete meal (rehydrated with water in about five minutes), mixed as a topper with other foods, or given dry as a treat.[8]
The product is made with ingredients sourced primarily from Canadian farms, and its shelf-stable format reduces refrigeration and shipping requirements. Packaging incorporates illustrations of Canadian landscapes, reflecting the brand’s domestic identity.[9]
Would independent editors consider adding this new section?

Factual update: 2026 industry ranking
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. (See below) |
I am an employee of Red Dog Blue Kat (Red Dog Deli Raw Food Company Inc.). I am requesting a factual update to the article based on an independent 2026 industry report.
To ensure the update meets Wikipedia's neutrality standards, I have provided two options for the community to consider. I am perfectly happy to proceed with either version.
- Source for both:** *Pet Raw Food Market Competition Analysis 2025: How Players Are Shaping Growth*, The Business Research Company, January 2, 2026. (https://tech.einnews.com/amp/pr_news/879463515/pet-raw-food-market-competition-analysis-2025-how-players-are-shaping-growth)
- Option 1 (Minimalist/Quantitative focus):**
"In 2026, market intelligence firm The Business Research Company identified Red Dog Blue Kat as a top ten global player in the raw pet food market, citing a 0.2% global market share and identifying it as a leading company in the North American region."
- Option 2 (Descriptive/Report context):**
"In 2026, The Business Research Company identified Red Dog Blue Kat as a top ten global player in the raw pet food market. The report identified the company as a leader in high-quality formulations and sustainable sourcing within the North American region, holding a 0.2% global market share."
- Rationale:** To provide a current view of the company’s market standing and regional leadership based on independent third-party analysis.

Not done, I would add this content (Either option) as it meets Wikipedia's neutrality standard but you do not state where in the article you want this content placed. Please add another request stating where, thank you. Best, MosquitoDestroyer (talk | mosquitoes destroyed) 06:41, 4 January 2026 (UTC)
Edit Request: Update History Section with 2026 Market Analysis
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
- Proposed Change:** Please add the following text as a new paragraph at the end of the existing History section.
- Text to be added:**
In 2026, market intelligence firm The Business Research Company identified Red Dog Blue Kat as a top ten global player in the raw pet food market. The report identified the company as a leader in high-quality formulations and sustainable sourcing within the North American region, holding a 0.2% global market share.[1]
- Rationale:** An editor has previously reviewed this content and confirmed it meets neutrality standards, but requested a specific location for the placement. I am requesting it be placed at the end of the History section to provide a chronological update on the company's industry standing based on independent third-party analysis.

- Partially done. The source you listed -- the press release -- only covered part of the information you were listing, so I excised the "The report identified the company as a leader in high-quality formulations and sustainable sourcing within the North American region" which perhaps was in the report (I was not about to pay $4490 to find out) but is not in the press release. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 20:31, 10 February 2026 (UTC)
