Antivenom?

[edit]

In an episode of "The Blacklist" this snake's venom is mentioned as highly potent, but the protagonist recovers. Is there an antivenom available? If so,should it be mentioned in this article? Regards, DPdH (talk) 12:33, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Latin naming?

[edit]

I'm very confused, the latin name is 'flaviceps', literally yellow-head --- there's other examples: Yellow-headed Brushfinch: Atlapetes flaviceps; Chlorotachina flaviceps, a fly with a yellow head; or the Verdin where the wikipedia page explicitly says 'flaviceps meaning yellow-headed', https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdin ... So, how is this obviously red-headed snake that's commonly called red-headed krait called in 1843 'yellow-headed'? Was https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Theodor_Reinhardt colorblind? Any suggestions beyond 'the world was still in black-and-white then, look at the photos; people just had to guess'? 2003:ED:AF20:DF00:89FF:B207:EDDA:9C0B (talk) 19:45, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply

Sometimes, names don't make any sense at all. - UtherSRG (talk) 20:34, 6 July 2025 (UTC)Reply
