  • This is a good hook, but I think all the alt versions are a bit long - we don't need quite that much context. Maybe " ... that Republicans were accused of subliminally associating Al Gore with "rats"?" Otherwise, article is in good shape, eligible, and there's no evidence of copyvio nor QPQ needed. Thanks! I worry that that alternative would not give enough context. Many people don't know who Al Gore is. Explicitly defining when it happened (2000) and who he was (the Democratic nominee) helps with that. ALT3 and ALT4 were alternatives that some other editors helped work on to shorten it. If most of the hooks provide too much context, I think ALT4 is a good compromise. Also, given that there is an image attached, it would be hard to work that in to the hook you proposed because it doesn't explicitly state that it was in a campaign ad. aesurias (ping me in your reply, or I won't see it) (talk) 04:41, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just following up on this, @Generalissima :) aesurias (ping me in your reply, or I won't see it) (talk) 03:18, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't see anything disqualifying in any case, but I do think it's still a bit too long. I can leave a decision on that to whoever promotes it though. Generalissima (talk) (it/she) 03:20, 1 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
