Small typo

"Abdu is a policy analyst with the Al-Shabaka," It should say "with Al-Shabaka" Please fix :) Gamalny (talk) 05:47, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

A reference confirming an "assistant professor of Law and Finance" position is missing - an affiliation should be added or this part of the bio should be removed. Zlmark (talk) 16:21, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Hi the user @KentuckyRain24 deleted the entry in the opening stating Abdu is a "Assistant Professor of Law and Finance" I found a link sourcing it. https://euromedmonitor.org/en/staff Can this be re-added? Galdrack (talk) 13:56, 30 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

The following section should be added at the end of the article:

Alleged association with Hamas

[edit]

On August 11, 2020, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed an administrative seizure order against Ramy Abdu, "in relation to his work with designated terrorist organization 'IPALESTINE - International Platform of NGO's Working for Palestine (aka "IPNGO")' that belongs to and acts on behalf of the designated terrorist organization HAMAS".[1][2] Zlmark (talk) 15:21, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Not done, see WP:BLPPRIMARY and WP:BLPCRIME, we dont use primary sources for claims against a living person. If some conviction happens that can be revisited. nableezy - 15:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
As far as I understand, WP:PUBLICFIGURE applies here:
"If an allegation or incident is noteworthy, relevant, and well documented, it belongs in the article." Zlmark (talk) 15:54, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Zlmark yeah, as long as we attribute it properly and don't say it in wikivoice we should be fine. Alaexis¿question? 22:01, 5 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
He isn’t a public figure. nableezy - 02:10, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't his public activity, including appearances before the UN Human Rights Council, qualify him as such? Zlmark (talk) 03:54, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
No, he isn’t a high profile person. nableezy - 04:02, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I don't agree with that. WP:BLP doesn't define a public figure but it links WP:LOWPROFILE (an explanatory essay). Abdu definitely does not satisfy the criteria for being a low profile figure. Alaexis¿question? 22:02, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Public figure is coming from US libel law, and public figure is linked in WP:PUBLICFIGURE. LOWPROFILE is about BLP1E, not about what material may be included in a BLP. nableezy - 22:03, 6 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

After: Abdu was the assistant director and Palestine Office Manager for Council for European Palestinian Relations,

Please add the following: the pro-Hamas lobbying group for the European Union.
