129.69.140.138 (talk) 12:11, 26 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Is this Sursock land?

[edit]

Looking at:

...Isn't this on the 9000 dunums of Majdal land, in the Acre district? It had 70 families by 1925.

  • Schumacher#p.175
  • Rather large in SWP, map 5: Conder and Kitchener, 1881, SWP I, p. 285: "A mud village, like the last, with a few figs on the south, olives to the north, and a well on the west. The population in 1859 was 100; the tillage ten feddans (Rogers)."
  • 1922: Al Majdal: 87 Muslims and 1 Christian, (Barron, 1923, Table XI, Sub-district of Haifa, p. 33)
  • In the 1931 census ‘’el Majdal” had a population of 154 Muslims in a total of 30 houses.(Mills, 1932, p. 94)
  • 1945: 420 Jews(Government of Palestine, Department of Statistics, 1945, p. 14)(Government of Palestine, Department of Statistics. Village Statistics, April, 1945. Quoted in Hadawi, 1970, p. 49)
