Family background
[edit]What is her ethnic background? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:9E8:263:AF00:1497:9027:62B7:ACB2 (talk) 18:06, 19 April 2022 (UTC)
Citation does not support co-founder claim
[edit]| This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest has now been answered. |
Declaration: I am Brendon Wilkins, co-founder and co-CEO of DigVentures. I have a declared conflict of interest and am requesting this change rather than making it myself.
Issue: The sentence "She is a co-founder of the archaeological social-enterprise DigVentures" is cited to ref 8, a DigVentures blog post:
https://digventures.com/2016/03/time-teams-paul-blinkhorn-where-is-the-old-pot-monkey-now/
That page is an interview with pottery specialist Paul Blinkhorn, written by Dave. It does not describe her as a founder of DigVentures. The author biography at the foot of the page reads in full: "A long-time member of Channel 4's Time Team, Raksha Dave is one of the country's best loved archaeologists." The source therefore fails verification for the claim it supports (WP:V).
Additional context: DigVentures and Lisa Westcott Wilkins both name two founders, Lisa Westcott Wilkins and Brendon Wilkins. Companies House records for DigVentures Ltd (07854519, incorporated 21 November 2011) are consistent with those articles. This article is inconsistent with both.
Requested change: Remove the sentence, or replace it with wording supported by a source that verifies it. I have no view on which, and this request does not bear on Dave's notability, which rests on her broadcast career and her presidency of the Council for British Archaeology. - Hi, Itsritual. I've reworked this with additional sources and changing the description to "founding member" per Guardian ref. I'd like better sources than the two I have added, though, which are both by Dave, so please let me know if you can suggest any. Tacyarg (talk) 19:42, 3 August 2026 (UTC)
