How does a client know which server to connect to if their roles can be changing? The article doesn't mention that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 5.146.174.119 (talk) 12:38, 10 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Intro

[edit]

The intro of this article should start with a description of Raft instead of a comparison to another thing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.178.107.98 (talk) 17:21, 30 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction on byzantine fault tollerance

[edit]

Currently the introduction states: "Raft is Byzantine fault tolerant"

But the later section Basic/Issues/byzantine-fault-tolerance states explicitly "This means that Raft is not a Byzantine fault tolerant algorithm."

As far as I can tell, the introduction is wrong and Raft isn't byzantine fault tolerant. But my main point here is to flag the explicit contradiction. Not to attempt to correct it. Rocqua (talk) 09:54, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
