So that others know, the difference between the legal system in Spain and the UK/US is the existence of "first instance" and "final" verdicts. Mir is convicted, but his sentence is not "firm" or "final" until the end of the appeals process. Santi Mina was also convicted of the same offence, but carried on his career instead of going straight inside.
