Change main picture of Raegan to the one on her IMDB page. That's all. +contrib LavaPulse (talk) 15:58, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

Not done Images of living people must be licensed freely (i.e. compatible with CC-BY-SA) to be uploaded and used on Wikipedia; I don't see any indication that the IMDB image is freely licensed. Writ Keeper  16:03, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
The rule of thumb is that any random pic you see online is under copyright and can't be used on WP or Commons. We can use File:Raegan Revord at KCAs 2024.jpg because the copyrightholder said so. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:34, 3 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Just because I can do something does not necessarily mean I should. That file isn't really a photograph - it's a blurry video still. Back in July, I tagged the article with the then brand new |type= parameter for the cleanup template {{Improve images}} and I still hope Wikipedia stops using video as a general source of still photography. CapnZapp (talk) 22:58, 26 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
In this case we should, since the image is better than no leadimage, and fairly standard in the WP-context. That's my view. If we get a better one at some point, we can use that. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:07, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Your view is noted. We have plenty of BIO articles with no image. My view is that no image is better than a blurry video frame. Video should not be considered "fairly standard" as a general source of photographs, and should only be used in exceptional cases, including, of course, instances where some measure of quality (sharpness) can be retained. That is, a 4K 60fps video is not the same as a shitty youtube stream. I am convinced no image makes the community look for a good free picture much harder, and that poor quality video stills mostly serves to delay that effort.
If we absolutely must bring up policies and guidelines, I would note that MOS:IMAGEQUALITY specifically states (my emphasis): "Use the best quality images available. Poor-quality images—dark or blurry; video stills; showing the subject too small, hidden in clutter, ambiguous, or at an awkward angle; and so on—should not be used unless absolutely necessary."
Do note I haven't actually removed the image. And I do appreciate you wanting to improve BIO articles with pictures showing the likeness of the article subject. I just wish you wouldn't settle for hunting down youtube streams when doing so. Best regards, CapnZapp (talk) 10:44, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I don't think this is a poor quality image. I think it's a mid-quality image, as it's clear and recognizable and has a reasonable pose, and the blur is slight. I don't think one would want to print from this, but it does fine for an on-screen representation. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 13:19, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
I would urge you to up your expectations, Nat. This level of quality really reflects poorly on Wikipedia as a project, even if we discount the possibility of printing out an edition. Calling it "mid-level" reinforces the notion it would be okay to leave this image permanently, when it should really only be considered an emergency stop-gap measure. As is, I can see the argument it is better than no picture at all (which is why I haven't removed it), but please let us agree it is just barely better than no picture at all. Either way, I really hope someone finds (or takes) an actual photograph soon so we can get rid of this video still. CapnZapp (talk) 15:51, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Nothing "emergency" about it. This is the kind of material we've got to work with, and in that context, it's better than "just barely." I don't think it really reflects poorly on Wikipedia as a project either, it's just a consequence of copyright etc. Perhaps they'll be at a Comicon next year and some Wikimedian will take a better pic then, or perhaps you'll mail their manager and persuade them to release something. And if that doesn't happen, that's ok too. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 16:15, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
And I would urge you to stop talking down to me, "Capn". I don't think this picture is "barely better than no picture at all", I think it's fine for the purpose. If we get a better picture, should we use that one instead? Sure, but that's always true... and I think this one is better than many pictures on articles with "actual" photographs.--Nat Gertler (talk) 16:28, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply
Let me also note that "I just wish you wouldn't settle for hunting down youtube streams when doing so" is very inappropriate. This is not the first time that you've criticized people for not doing the work that you yourself could be doing, or for not finding something which may not be there. It is a condescending and entitled way to treat your fellow editors. -- Nat Gertler (talk) 16:36, 27 October 2025 (UTC)Reply

I was asked to comment here. Perhaps my anecdote can help. I haven't previously edited this article. By name alone, I did not know who this the subject was. But between looking at this image, and reading about their role on Young Sheldon, I was able to realize who the subject is. For the record, I am not a Young Sheldon viewer, I merely know of the show, have seen ads, etc. So, as such, I think I can comment from the "general audiences" viewpoint - this image was helpful enough in helping me identify the subject. It is a little blurry, sure, but I believe it gets the job done for now. If a comparable but less blurry one is uploaded in the future, then that would be the time to make a change. @PaulLim11 Hello, "some Wikimedian", thanks for the new pic! Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:27, 20 April 2026 (UTC)Reply

@PaulLim11: Thank you for the excellent picture whose quality is stellar in all regards! I'm glad tagging the article worked! CapnZapp (talk) 11:11, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't know if the tagging had anything to do with the picture being taken , but it might have. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 11:29, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sure. CapnZapp (talk) 12:20, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've been wanting to replace it ever since I got photos of the cast of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage last year. At that time, I noticed that Raegan was in need of a new photo so I've been on the lookout for any events that Raegan was in. Glad I could help! PaulLim11 (talk) 13:00, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

[edit]

Firstly, regarding streaming, the top result for 'SettingSunset' on Twitch, is 'raerevord' (which, based on appearances, appears to be their channel).

Secondly, under 'Personal life' "Revord has been streaming under the alias SettingSunset since around 2023.".

I suggest either the linking of 'streaming' to the article on 'Online Streamers', and/or adding 'on Twitch' somewhere to the quoted part.

It appears they do have a Youtube channel under '@SettingSunset', though it doesn't appear to have had any streams take place on it, nor be very active, (also per it's description; "cc who never streams :) vlog channel mainly!") ergo the logic behind the proposed edit(s)/suggestions.

I'm not an extended-confirmed editor here, so don't expect me to respond here. Lafi90 (talk) 04:10, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

None of that is WP:RS which can indicate inclusion is due. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 05:12, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
From archived discussions, the SettingSunset social medias is/was https://x.com/settingsunset_, https://www.youtube.com/@SettingSunset/featured and https://www.twitch.tv/settingsunset_. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 06:41, 15 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
I made this tweak , afaict it's a fairly recent change, and I couldn't find any BLP-good comment on it. In general, those sources have ignored her settingsunset activities, so this article does too. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 05:18, 16 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

Draft:Missy Cooper

[edit]

For the interested. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 13:06, 6 March 2026 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately not much to see there. Neither that draft nor our current coverage at List of The Big Bang Theory franchise characters § Missy Cooper have any quality references. I don't know whether this is because there just aren't any, or because no sufficiently experienced Wikipedian has looked for them. CapnZapp (talk) 10:54, 21 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Several typos, they -> she

[edit]

Please, fix the article ASAP. They have appeared on the Young Sheldon spin-off series Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage. It has to be: She has appeared on the Young Sheldon spin-off series Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage.

And so on. Currently the article is full of nonsense. Typofixingthis (talk) 08:40, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Not done: Not a typo, see the first footnote and citations within. fifteen thousand two hundred twenty four (talk) 09:56, 3 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
