The picture to go with the article is mostly about the PS core network, you can't see the interfaces in the RAN and you can't see CS core network.. I'll try to make a more complete picture.. Leijona 07:03, 31 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Defining Ethernet Physical Interfaces

Starting R5, IP bearers can be used over Ethernet instead. Physically, these interfaces can be carried over SDH over optical fiber, E1 (sometimes referred to as PDH) - over a copper wire or microwave radio.

Transmission over Ethernet means that the physical medium of transmission is not explicitly defined.
