To see if I understand this correctly, if , where T is conceived to be the temperature in a room as a function of the room's 3-dimensional co-ordinates (with the origin as a "heat source"), would T be a radial function? —Anonymous DissidentTalk 14:41, 30 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, it would be. In fact, any Gaussian distribution centered at the origin would be: and these all effectively model the heat in a room with a point heat source at the origin.
