Plagiarism

The article currently states: "Hardeman had been publicly accused of plagiarism by a former colleague, but called the allegations "completely false" and said it was a mistake of not appropriately attributing her colleague's work"

I will point out that "not appropriately attributing [a] colleague's work" IS the DEFINITION of plagiarism. One recent editor seems to keep reverting the text of this article to make it seem like the violation is minor. It is not. The U of MN has since been accused of mishandling their investigation into the plagiarism and failed to report the allegations to the federal agency providing funding. Hello. If I am the "recent editor" you speak of, I removed poorly sourced material cited only to a firsthand accusation posted to LinkedIn, which falls well below the stringent requirements of WP:BLP. I have no opinions about the seriousness of the plagiarism allegations described here, and in fact know very little about the incident or individuals involved — I was merely ensuring that this article follows Wikipedia requirements for sourcing for biographies of living people. Irrelevant info in article

This sentence seems irrelevant: "Her mother, Sharri Belton Hardeman, served as a juror in the Trial of Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd." The sentence before that ("Her uncle's wife, Sharon Sayles Belton, was the first Black and first female mayor of the city.") is marginal in terms of relevance for Hardeman's accomplishments.

Also wondering whether her limited scholarly accomplishments make her worthy of a Wikipedia page, especially in light of the effect of the plagiarism allegations. I guess time will tell how that affects her career. Many other researchers, including POC, with greater scholarly achievements, haven't been granted Wikipedia pages. 73.228.199.124 (talk) 18:33, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
