Removal of material about tattoos?

Hi @Jackmegill! I'd like to learn about why you removed mostly-cited content about tattoo-related identification in this edit? This was marked as a minor edit, without explanation, but I imagine you have a reason in mind, including because I believe some of this was content you added originally?

I added this article to my watchlist because I linked to it from Sailor tattoos#18th century; I was also trying out adding more detail there, but the detailed information seemed most appropriate within this article focused on protection papers. I believe this information should exist on Wikipedia in a well-researched format, and I'm up for collaborating on figuring out where exactly it should live.

FYI , While researching an article on the War of 1812 for Navy, "HM Dartmoor Prison and the War of 1812", I came upon a number of entries in the General Entry Book for American Prisoners of War at Portsmouth. The first page of which, listed three sailors No.1 Joshua Paine, “mark of a coconut tree, right arm”, No. 6 Peter Evan, “B. R. marked on left arm”, No. 9 Celeb Daymen, “marked with 7 Stars, left arm”
