KMT and pro-Chinese unification symbol as proposed flag of Taiwan?
[edit]In addition to the hearts-in-harmony flag, the Blue Sky with a White Sun flag, officially used as the naval jack of Taiwan, is sometimes suggested as an alternative design for Taiwan’s national flag.
Flag this statement as dubious (and possible vandalism) due to "Blue Sky with a White Sun" symbol's strong association with KMT, Chinese unification and Chinese Nationalism. Per standards of WP:REDFLAG, exceptional claim of this magnitude requires multiple high-quality sources as support. ~2026-18598-67 (talk) 16:35, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reminder. That sentence was added without reference on 21 November 2025 by a user, who has been blocked indefinitely as a sock puppetry on 18 January. The referred symbol is the top cornor part of the National Flag of the Republic of China (regulated by a special law with criminal offense penalty) and associated with a long history of Chinese Nationalism, One-party-state and Party military tradition of the Kuomintang, and still inherited with certain patterns on the flags and icons of every ROC military branches today, hence indeed not a proposed "design for Taiwan’s national flag" as the sentence stated by definition, but somehow was left over in the article till now, while the user's another added Naval Jack symbol, which also resembles to the KMT's party symbol, in the next "Gallery" chapter has already been removed. As you indicated, hereby also remove the unsourced sentence to comply with the Wikipedian WP:OR policy. Have a great day! -- Mickie-Mickie (talk) 18:43, 25 March 2026 (UTC)
