This article starts with a dictionary definition for project. But WP isn't supposed to be a dictionary, right? WP is for notable things in the world ... not just common words, right? So, my first suggestion is that this page isn't needed. Let dictionaries cover the word.
Second, the meaning WRT Visual Studio is a very different meaning of project. It's not an effort. It's a configuration file that can be used to build software. That seems to have nothing to do with the article intro.
