Article needs work

[edit]

This article needs work. Here's a link to a book on Google Books that gives a more specific picture of what a process camera is: http://books.google.com/books?id=cuzYl4hx-B8C&lpg=PA534&ots=n0GqwXABRC&dq=planar%20%22process%20camera%22&pg=PA372#v=onepage&q=%22process%20camera%22&f=false

In general and offhand, I would say the following needs to be included in the article:

  • A commercial darkroom camera used in publishing and graphic arts
  • Large scale, often used to photograph full broadsheet pages
  • Capable of full size 1:1 copies
  • Used to photograph planar material, photographs, printed material, artwork, etc. (Capable of sharp focus on a plane at relatively close range, as opposed to most cameras that would focus on a spherical surface ... or so I think.)

If I get time, I'll be back to work on this (but don't let that keep you from doing it now). Frappyjohn (talk) 09:25, 8 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
