adjusting currency for inflation

[edit]

Under career & activism, I added a short passage from the 1998 book Improper Bostonian, quoting Townsend. In the quote, Townsend states an amount of money that he refused to pay and that amount seems to be replaced with a number adjusted for inflation. However, if that is the reason for the brackets, then the number ($1500) is out of date and would be about $3000 as of 2026, according to one random inflation calculator. This isn't my expertise, so I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this. Thank you. Shannend29 (talk) 19:58, 11 February 2026 (UTC)Reply
