Probe size

Thanks for a good article!

Wondering about the probe size of 50 nm given in 'Advantages'. Why this large number? Even old hardware without a corrector or field emitter can get a STEM probe down to a couple of nm (compared to <0.1 nm with both). Does the probe move around slightly during precessing due to imperfect alignment, thus effectively hitting a larger area? -Yikkayaya (talk) 13:02, 23 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
