There should be a note also about the use of 'praeses' to mean the examiner presiding at the defence of a dissertation or disputation in mediaeval universities, as opposed to the 'respondent' and 'defendant'. Omassey 16:48, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

There should also be a note that praeses is the modern term used for people defending dissertations in Danish Universities. --NuclearWarhead (talk) 17:18, 7 June 2015 (UTC)Reply
