Where is the source for cows naturally consuming feces? That sounds like agribusiness justification for feeding cows something gross. Alexa411 16:34, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Need additional science and info
[edit]This page seems a bit lacking concerning the science and chemical treatments that are used in commercial poultry farms. A number of treatments are used by commercial operations for ammonia control of poultry litter. Some hold down ammonia by altering the pH, some use biological methods. There are also methods for breaking down poultry litter for use as fertilizer. There is already a wikipedia article on this entitled windrow composting, but it should be mentioned here, and windrow methods specifically related to poultry should be discussed. I believe I could add sections to this page to cover all this, unless there are objections. Thanks! Ffejmopp (talk) 20:08, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
