@The Grid: - you removed the entire table from the section. This is a specific status that is only for a small number of tropical cyclones, so I think it is reasonable to have a table listing every time it happened. That's why I opened up this discussion. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:29, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I see no relevance in having the list present. For instance, the subtropical cyclone article lists examples. – The Grid (talk) 21:36, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Funny you bring up subtropical cyclone, where there was a proposal with some agreement to make a list. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 21:53, 9 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Just my luck 😅 - I still think it should be minimal for the PTCs mentioned on here – The Grid (talk) 12:47, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
Respectfully, Quxyz (talk · contribs) designed the article to be a complete entry for the series, kind of like how we have List of Category 1 Atlantic hurricanes. I don't believe a List of potential tropical cyclones would make sense as a concept, since the article title is about a specific designation. There just wouldn't be much in the article if there was no list, so having one helps flesh out the article. Also, since they're such a new concept (only since 2017), there probably haven't been too many research papers yet, but at some point, there will be, and they might refer to some of the systems on the list. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:35, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
I would suggest a split proposal if you think the list should not be here. ✶Quxyz✶ (talk) 17:03, 10 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
