Posthumous narrative - Dear Evan Hansen

Hi, how's it going? A few days ago, you added a section on Dear Evan Hansen to this article. I wasn't familiar with the piece, so I read its article. Perhaps I'm missing something, but to me this didn't seem to meet the criterion of narration by a character that's dead. Instead, the central character is creating a fictitious history between himself and another boy who's dead. —BillC ^talk 09:08, 18 February 2026 (UTC)

Hi @BillC. Thanks for posthumous narrative. Inspired me to pick up a copy of As I Lay Dying. The journal article cited refers specifically to Connor's fictitious "posthumous narrative", and in the staging, the actor playing Connor even reappears on stage after he is already dead behaving like a puppet.
