Does this page really need to exist? It's nothing more than a simple Latin definition. Superslacker87 (talk) 04:15, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is that an existential question?
Every article on Wikipedia is nothing more than a definition. That's kinda the point. This page is no more "simple" than the hundreds of other "simple" Latin definitions found on Wikipedia. In fact, this phrase is more significant than most, given its provenance and the theological controversy surrounding its interpretation. See footnote. -- TheEditrix2 19:10, 21 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Hey! So, I personally think it’d be useful, why? Well, because a lot of us don’t really know those kinds of phrases, and would like to know. ~2025-40942-60 (talk) 20:41, 15 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

No references to Umberto Eco's scene in The Name of the Rose?

I propose this popular culture reference:

Brother Salvatore of Montferrat speaks in a mixture of languages: Penitenziagite! Watch out for the draco who cometh in futurum to gnaw your anima! Death is super nos! Pray the Santo Pater come to liberar nos a malo and all our sin! Ha ha, you like this negromanzia de Domini Nostri Jesu Christi! Et anco jois m'es dols e plazer m'es dolors... Cave el diabolo! Semper lying in wait for me in some angulum to snap at my heels. But Salvatore is not stupidus! Bonum monasterium, and aqui refectorium and pray to dominum nostrum. And the rest is worth merda. Amen. No?

were Penitenziagite = "penitentiam agite" = Poenitentiam agite

This talk page seems to have nothing of value, but the article is useful and to the point. 105.237.24.170 (talk) 18:34, 23 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
