  • Comment: Driveby nom. I went back and forth deciding whether to GA Kim Petras or Vivian Wilson as part of last month's Trans Day of Visibility set, I think I made the right choice. (Might do that for Trans Day of Remembrance in November.)

@Orangesclub: Of the two sources Wilson's contribution is cited to, Musk is mentioned in both and only Them describes her as a model. I can live with Wilson being described as a model, but I still think Musk should be mentioned.--Launchballer 12:22, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

My issue with this is that it just becomes so repetitive. She has already been featured in a DYK about her father. She was in this music video, we need to make it about her father. Whatever she does next, will also be about her father. I understand that that is what media coverage is often like but I feel it's excessive for us to follow suit. To me, it'd be like referring to Mark Zuckerberg only in relation to founding Facebook however many years ago - yes, that is what he's best known for, but after a while the bluetext of his wikilink does the heavy lifting for anyone who wants to know his background. orangesclub 🍊 05:10, 12 May 2026 (UTC)

Wilson has never been featured in a successful DYK with or without her father; an attempt last year was quickfailed. She's also nowhere near as well known as Zuckerberg. I wouldn't expect readers to know the name alone. Zuckerberg was just an example. It would maybe be suited if this was her song, it isn't. It's just a song where she's in the music video for less than 10 seconds in a capacity that has nothing to do with her father, nor the fathers of anyone else in the video. If anyone is curious why she is bluelinked, they can click on it and find out more. To address Orangesclub's concern about Wilson appearing only briefly in the video, how does the following reword sound then? I changed "features" to "appeared in" since "features" implies her having a longer appearance than what it actually was.
