Cross-wiki sock-puppets and spam - likely undisclosed paid edits

[edit]

Hi,

I'm a sysop on fr-wikipedia and also a member of meta:Wikiproject:Antispam.

On fr-wp, several accounts insisted on writing promotional content on 3 closely related articles:

We found a proxy and 3 sockpuppets, with cross-wiki activity on the same pages - see fr:Wikipédia:Vérificateur d'adresses IP/Requêtes/juillet 2021#Svetlana090, Foundation-french, Marija1st, BKTeaman, Yasinkovski, Jean-Dumoulin1, Jehanne-Sylvie - 24 juillet

We also blocked other Single-purpose accounts:

The pages are under extended protect for quite some time. Thought you'd like to know.

@Bédévore: Thanks for taking the time to post this. As far as blocks, I think we have it under control. The proxy range was blocked over a year ago and doesn't expire until March 2023, and the named accounts who are actually active on en.wiki are already blocked. The biggest problem is the articles themselves, which are a lot of work to fix. Another thing that would be helpful, if you're so inclined, is to request global locks for these users. The cross-wiki spam and the fact that many are locally blocked on two different projects should make for smooth sailing.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:07, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply
Hi Bbb23
Absolutely. I reported them on 2021-07-24 but nothing happened. Reported them again a few minutes ago. Best, - Bédévore [knock knock] 22:31, 31 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

This article has a few problems

[edit]

I tried to remove some grammatical inconsistencies, did some resourcing, and added information from the French article. This article will require a lot of cleanup to be in line with Wikipedia's standards. It seems to violate WP:NPOV (whose viewpoint it was written for, I couldn't begin to tell you) and WP:NOR(makes a claim, then uses sources as examples) to name a few. I can't speak Russian, so I can't tell if a lot ofthe sources are relevant.--NANPLover47 (talk) 02:29, 18 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

Still feels really promo

Suggest checking against references in both Russian and French. Elinruby (talk) 04:03, 22 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi all,

Recently I was able to spend some time deleting a lot of the uncited material and doing my own research to come up with a far more balanced article. I translated the good parts of the French article and used the quality French sources in order to make this article better. I hope that this is beneficial.
