Appropriate Copyediting & Emendations

- Fine, no problems with what you are doing, but do you think "employed" is quite the right word. Did Kings "employ" in the 17th century? - the word just seems a little jarring, employ suggests an option in the matter and a salary, which I am sure there was, but... do you see where I am coming from..? - It's rather like the dreaded infobox that insists upon "design team."
