@Ldm1954 I see substantially more than "a few cites" when I search "phase-shifting interferometry" on gscholar, with basically the first page of papers having 100+ cites, with at least at 305, at 424, and at 350 from different authors. I'm not sure where you're coming from, unless optics is a ridiculously high-citation field. ~ A412 talk! 02:29, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Specifically I could see an argument that this is {{more citations needed}} but both current maintenance tags, {{notability}} and {{no significant coverage}} are incorrect if your issue with the current sources is that their citation counts are too low and if the high-citation sources appear to exist. ~ A412 talk! 02:34, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
There are multiple issues with this page:
1. The sources cited are not high citations ones that indicate significant coverage.
2. Most of the literature is on a different use of interferograms than this page describes.
3. The sources do not cover what is in the text. Ldm1954 (talk) 02:47, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
1. I think you're using significant coverage in a different way than is meant by the tag, which links significant coverage, which says "addresses the topic directly and in detail".
2. Fair. I'm clearly missing a detail here.
3. Fair.
I'm okay with the current set of maintenance tags given your concerns, except I still think {{no significant coverage}} is a factually incorrect tag here. ~ A412 talk! 02:51, 9 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
