Too long?

I don’t think that the summary of this novel could be shortened without overlooking some major sub-plots in the novel. It really is a very dense book.

Amazon Spot Instances

I feel like there should be a reference in this article to the variant of the cloud which Egan describes in his book, since Amazon Spot Instances is really close to how he described it. Problem with Story section

"They discover that the combined intelligence of Lambertians has exceeded that of Permutation City; as such, the TVC universe is being overwritten into a system existing solely as a byproduct of the self-perpetuation of the Autoverse."

I think there's a mistake here. The Lambertian threat to the TVC universe comes from them developing an explanation for their existence which didn't require the TVC universe, not that their combined intelligence exceeded that of the Elysians, right? Golazo.energy (talk) 22:15, 14 April 2026 (UTC)
