Name of article
[edit]Perfluoroalkoxy is the name for an organic radical; i.e., a molecular group or a part of a molecule. I think it is incorrect to use "perfluoroalkoxy" generically as the name of a polymer or a polymer material. I think the correct name of this [fluoro]polymer material is Teflon-PFA or perhaps generically PFA-polytetrafluoroethylene or polytetrafluoroethylene-PFA.
If R- is an alkyl group, then R-O- is an alkoxy group. "Perfluoro-" means all of the H atoms in a group or molecule are substituted with F atoms. Therefore the general chemical formula of a perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) group would be CnF2n+1-O-. H Padleckas 19:04, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
