[edit]What cleanup is needed exactly? Defacing a perfectly presentable article with a massive unsightly banner without explanation, as opposed to just going ahead and making whatever minor improvements were thought necessary, does not seem exactly helpful. Flapdragon 12:37, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
Could someone give more information about a penknife as used to sharpen pen-nibs? The present text is about the use of penknife as a synonym for pocket knife, and all facts are covered by that article. I feel this article ought to refer to the original use of the name, both folding and non folding. The present normal use is better covered with a reference, and the existing link to pocket knife. - Added more about penknives, but article does seem to blur penknife with other pocket knives. Perhaps there is no fine boundary. Stepp-Wulf (talk) 02:31, 9 January 2009 (UTC).
- more needs to be added to the artical. Penknifes holds a strong legal definition in certain areas. only British?
[edit]Why does the article say British? My 1976 Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary does not indicate British, although it so indicates for words like bonnet. I grew up in the US, and this word is in my normal vocabulary. 2600:6C67:1C00:5F7E:CCA7:980C:8BC4:C192 (talk) 02:59, 24 October 2022 (UTC)
