Notable list

[edit]

If Eunice Penix was found to be non-notable in an AfD, how can we include her in a list of notable people? That doesn't make sense. Niteshift36 (talk) 15:26, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Redundant?

[edit]

The opening statement seems redundant, but instead of removing the offending passage I’m bringing this here in case I’m missing something.

Penix is a Cornish-language family name (Cornish surnames) originating in Cornwall.

As opposed to Cornish surnames originating in Tuscany or Baden-Wurttemberg? If a local surname originated in south Wales, Wessex, Mercia or southern Ireland, it wouldn’t be a Cornish surname, surely. Is this a redundant non-distinction, or is it just so poorly worded that it doesn’t clearly express the editor’s intent? ~2026-29091-38 (talk) 13:09, 6 July 2026 (UTC)Reply
