• Books says the plan was to kill Anthony Perez, not Elizabeth - Cecil etc. simply manipulated the evidence at indictment by substituting the queen for Perez in the confessions. Sophisticated! Seems to be born out by the CSPD + Collen (#45) said his first confessor tried to dissuade him as it was murder.
