Yes, it is. The Urban Dictionary is a great source of objects, games and words in popular culture. Granted, one cannot always trust it when looking up a word, because definitions can be very different across areas of slang, but I'm pretty sure there isn't more than one game called Patball.

This is clearly a volley, and is an error on the strikers part and not just a variation, but a misunderstanding of the rules
