Surface difference compared to other porcelain?
[edit]In the composition section, it says "Parian has a more vitrified finish than porcelain due to the use of a significant amount of frit."
A typical porcelain body is fully vitrified (achieves <0.5% porosity) when fired to the appropriate temperature/ duration. Is the point trying to be made that Parian ware has a more vitreous luster (appears glossier, possibly due to a higher silica: alumina ratio due to the frit, or perhaps higher degree of silica uptake into the amorphous/ glassy component of the fired body)? Or is this about what temperature/ cone the ware vitrifies at (in which case I don't understand what makes it different from other porcelain in terms of aesthetics/ properties) Nyallwoven (talk) 21:25, 21 May 2025 (UTC)
