  • ... that a species of tardigrade got its name because it was found near an old monastery? Source: Lisi, Oscar; Binda, Maria Grazia; Pilato, Giovanni (14 April 2016). @Chess enjoyer: I would suggest taking a look through this open access paper that discusses the species and the genus and make some more additions to the article before I go to far with the DYK nomination review.--Kevmin § 03:04, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply

I originally skipped that source because MDPI is yellow at RSP. I just glanced over it, and I'm not seeing any new information about this species in particular. It includes a species key which distinguishes P. pius through the length of the macroplacoid relative to the length of the buccal tube, but I think that's the most I could add from it. The source gives a general overview of the genus diversity and the likely species group relations, plus as I noted in the edit summary, species notability is being looked at closer with the discussion of N:SPECIES, where a heavy emphasis was discussed regarding secondary papers also discussing a species, not jus the type description. While not adding a heavy amount of new material it adds to the validity of the species.--Kevmin § 03:35, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
You probably meant to link to WP:NSPECIES. I made the minor addition I mentioned earlier. Chess enjoyer (talk) 03:54, 30 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
