It is standard practice at WP:PALEO that articles on species of fossil genera should generally be consolidated into the articles on the genus itself, rather than be standalone aritcles, as such, I propose merging Parailurus anglicus into Parailurus. Support, I didn't even know the species article existed and I did work on the ailurids a while back. SilverTiger12 (talk) 19:35, 7 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
Support. Both are rather brief, barebones articles and there is nothing notable enough about P. anglicus for it to merit its own page. For that matter, this seems to be a wider pattern with a number of extinct genera articles from the Neogene onward; just to name a few examples, Siamogale melilutra, Proconsul africanus, Proconsul major, Ouranopithecus turkae, and Ouranopithecus macedoniensis all have their own separate, independent articles even though none of them are particularly noteworthy and have the wealth of species-specific information to merit separate articles. Support We normally treat these at the genus level, if there are no recent congenerics. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 06:51, 25 September 2025 (UTC)Reply
