Change "brian bean" to "Brian Bean" 206.83.103.249 (talk) 21:36, 28 September 2025 (UTC)
Not done: WP:ABOUTSELF-the styling on the author's Amazon page and his website is in lowercase, indicating a deliberate choice rather than a typo. — 🪫Volatile 📲T | ⌨️C 01:56, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- Someone more competent should answer this because you referenced a policy on citations not the manual of style. The relevant guideline is MOS:NAME and most independent references in the article use 'Brian Bean' not 'brian bean'. 206.83.103.249 (talk) 05:05, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- And MOS:PERSONAL states
for a living subject, prefer the spelling consistently used in the subject's own publications
, linking to WP:ABOUTSELF, while reasonable challenges of reliability could be made to several of the book reviews used as independent references. There's room for debate regarding which styling is appropriate, and I'd prefer to see consensus before implementing the request. — 🪫Volatile 📲T | ⌨️C 11:05, 29 September 2025 (UTC)- I did not realise spelling covered capitalisation. 206.83.103.249 (talk) 23:32, 29 September 2025 (UTC)
- Then feel free to discuss the exact wording on the talk page of MOS:CAPS. I interpret the spirit of the guideline to mean "give consideration to the person's preferred styling, whether its capitalization or spelling", but I understand you might have a different view. — 🪫Volatile 📲T | ⌨️C 01:44, 30 September 2025 (UTC)
