The current page name, MPP5, is an outdated gene symbol. The new gene symbol is PALS1, which apparently was also the original name given to the mouse proteins. It seems that they want to separate MPP5 and MPP6 from the rest of the family, maybe due to the difference in function. "PALS1" gets about twice the google scholar hits compared to "MPP5", so it seems worth changing.

The uniprot protein name, "Protein PALS1", is short enough but has unnecessary (for this article) protein disambiguation, so I'll just make a minimal change and try to move the page to PALS1 Pabnau (talk) 23:38, 25 August 2026 (UTC)Reply
